Dear Parents,

I hope that your children have had an enjoyable first week back at school following the spring break.

This week, I would like to inform you of some administrative staffing changes, which will come into effect at the start of the next school year. From August 2022, Jana Barnhouse, our current Director of HR, will be appointed as my Assistant Superintendent. Jana’s duties will be remaining largely the same in this new role, with the addition of providing essential core support and advisory leadership direction to our district. Jana has served the ISG community since 1991 and continues to be a tremendous asset to ISG.

At the end of this year, we will also be saying goodbye to our Director of Operations, Alexander van Iperen, as he begins a new role closer to home. We wish Alexander and his family all the best in their next adventure. I am pleased to announce that he will be replaced by Joseph Bearns, who has previously served with ISG as an administrator at ASD. Joe knows our organization and student needs very well and has an extensive background in international education, leadership experience and a clear passion for technology in learning.

Just a reminder that, as part of ISG’s strategic plan work, from May 15 through May 28, 2022 we will be conducting virtual focus groups of parents, students, alumni, faculty and support staff, as well as a few other key stakeholder groups who may affect ISG’s future. This work will be conducted with the expert assistance of Littleford & Associates. If you would like to register your interest in taking part, please be sure to respond to the email from your child’s principal, which will be issued in the coming weeks. For more information and updates on the process, please see this webpage on the ISG website

On behalf of ISG, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a blessed Ramadan. Please find a short video message attached here. As you will already know, we will be adjusting our school day timings from Sunday. Please be sure to check your emails for a message from your child’s principal confirming their schedule.

Best wishes,

Dr. Michael P. Mack
