The ASD U16 boys and girls Volleyball teams entered their first NESAC tournaments in Beirut from 2-5 November. NESAC has eight member American Schools from the Middle East region. It is a well established and organized athletics and activities conference. The girls were undefeated over the three day tournament and brought home the championship. The boys recovered from losing a game on day two to also finish top and win the championship. ASD also had another U16 Boys Volleyball team playing in the Oasis tournament in Amman. They performed well over the three days and made it to the final where they were defeated by the hosts ABS Amman. Two of our ASD students, Nikole and Annika, were selected by the NESAC team organizers and coaches to be part of the ALL STAR team; the best players of the tournament. Congratulations to all our students, teachers, coaches, and parents on these outstanding achievements.
Last weekend, ISG held the U14 Volleyball Jamboree (boys and girls) where all our schools competed in a day full of serves, spikes and cheers. Please watch a recap of the event here.
Sara Village School celebrated Guy Fawkes Night on November 5 with a fun family barbeque, toffee apples, games, face painting and a bonfire. Children were invited to make a 'Guy' to go on the bonfire. First prize was won by Brodie (Year 1). Second place was won by Mrs Cruickshank's Year 2 class .
A few weeks ago it was announced that a new Touch Typing Challenge will be open to all our ISG students. Your children can now sign up and develop this important skill. There will be monthly shoutouts to highest ranking participants and an end of year prize for one winner. Please find all the details here.
ISG is continually evaluating and improving its security processes. It is important that we communicate often with our families and community about security matters. Please be reminded that if a guest wishes to visit campus outside of morning and afternoon drop-off/pick up times, they must contact the schools to make an appointment to enter the campus. Enacting strict entrance requirements to the campus helps us to provide a safe learning environment for our students.
ASD will soon be sharing a link to a Virtual Open House on November 26, 2022. Please share this information with your friends and family outside the Kingdom who might be interested in joining ASD. An in person Open House will be scheduled January 21, 2023.
I’d also like to remind you of the BSD Open House scheduled for November 23, 2022 from 8:30 - 9:30 am. Please be sure to share this with your friends and family.
Best wishes,
Michael P. Mack
